Car
You can drive to the Opera House via the M3-M27- A31- A338 in about:
  • 10 minutes from Bournemouth
  • 15 minutes from Christchurch
  • 30 minutes from Poole
  • 1 hour from Salisbury, Southampton, Winchester and Weymouth
  • 1hr 20 minutes from Portsmouth
  • 2 hrs from London
Parking is easy with a number of public car parks all within a 5 minute walk of the venue. There are well lit pay and display car parks either in Hawkwood Road (462 spaces within 3 car parks), or within the Sovereign Centre multi storey (625 spaces on three floors).
Train
Bournemouth is served by a train service leaving London Waterloo at 30 minutes past each hour. The journey time is approximately 2 hours. The station is about 1 mile from the Opera House being a 5 minute taxi ride. Telephone 0845 748 4950 for National Rail Enquiries.
Stage Access
Stage entrance is via a service road off Christchurch Road. The doors to stage are 4’ 7” wide by 7’ 1” high for load-in access.

The Main Auditorium
Our main auditorium is the heart of the venue with it’s magnificent period features including the proscenium arch and ornate steel work. Following its multi million pound refurbishment the venue now features: state of the art sound and LED lighting system, stage, dressing rooms with w.c. and shower, 3 levels for seating, 2 royal boxes, 12 private booths, box office, 1st floor cloakroom, cruse tables and 5 bars, including a cocktail bar. Plasma screens on entrance to auditorium, Wi-fi and internet access.
The Gallery
Situated on the first floor ‘The Gallery’ is the ideal room for smaller functions. The room exudes contemporary elegance with its own circular bar and 8 intimate booths. Other features: include reception/registration area, funktion - one sound system, plasma screen, variable LED lighting, Wi-Fi, internet access, full air conditioning, DJ booth, dance floor and three, 40ft. stunning, feature stained glass windows.
The Royal Boxes
The boxes are opulent areas perfect for entertaining clients during performances. They are situated on the first floor, stage left and right with superb views over the stage and are accessed by swipe card. Their features include a fully stocked private bar and VIP entrance to shows.
The Booths
Booths are also situated on the first floor, offering premium seating positions and waitress service from the bar. Also included is VIP entrance to shows.
